Charles Rial-Four Decades of Capital Raising Experience

As principal of Bass Creek Advisors, Ltd., Charles Rial leverages more than 40 years of experience to help private equity and development organizations raise investment capital for expansion. Charles Rial founded the firm in 2006 and works with middle market private equity firms that seek to raise funds from institutional investors. Bass Creek’s clients have included The Riverside Company, Barings (formerly Babson Capital Management), and Hammond Kennedy Whitney & Company.

Under Charles Rial’s leadership, Bass Creek aims to market client funds to prospective investors by building a logical, fact-filled argument that focuses on the firm's past, present, and future. This involves understanding its client’s competitive advantages. Since launching Bass Creek, Charles Rial and his team have raised over a billion dollars and recruited dozens of institutional investors for client funds.

Previously, Charles Rial served as managing partner-Europe at The Riverside Company, where he devised and implemented its strategy for expansion into Western Europe. He raised $550 million across Riverside’s funds and recruited 35 new institutional investors. Previously, Charles Rial served in executive capacities at Shorebanc Cleveland Corporation and Shorebank Advisory Services, the latter of which he founded in 1988.

Earlier in his career, as principal of Charles Rial & Associates, he arranged financing for a variety of clients for business expansion and acquisitions, as well as commercial real estate projects. To that end, he helped to fund fresh food market places, shopping centers, and shipping and distribution firms. The majority of these deals were highly structured with at least four layers of financing. Prior to establishing this firm in 1983, he served as the president of Alaska Consulting Group for four years.
